KOTA KINABALU: Foreigners in Sabah are to receive their vaccinations only after 70% of Sabahans have received their jabs, said state Covid-19 spokesman Masidi Manjun today.
However, the matter was still under discussion between the state government and the National Security Council and all relevant agencies.
He said all residents in Sabah, including those without documents, would be vaccinated, in the interest of public safety.
“For foreigners without documents or who are not on the records of the Immigration Department, the state government together with the NSC is in the process of refining the registration mechanism,” he said.
However foreigners with employment or travel documents (expats) living in Sabah can register and they would be scheduled, he said at his daily Covid-19 briefing.
Masidi said 28,445 people in Sabah, or about two-thirds of frontliners, had been given the first dose. There were 470 reports of mild and harmless side effects. - FMT
