Spa, reflexology, and karaoke centres in Sarawak can resume operations beginning Saturday, according to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
SDMC said in a statement today that this decision was taken as part of efforts to revive the state’s economic sector.
Before resuming operations, these centres should get the approval of the District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC).
“All workers and operators must take the RT-PCR swab test (and be confirmed Covid-19 negative) before starting operations.
“Regular checks will be conducted to ensure compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP). The SOP is available on the website of the Sarawak Housing and Local Government Ministry,” the statement read.
Sarawak today recorded 141 new Covid-19 cases and one new community cluster.
The state Health Department said the new Chupak cluster was detected at Kampung Chupak, Siburan in the Serian district.
“As of today, 338 individuals have been screened. In this cluster, 57 positive Covid-19 cases were detected, including the index case, 41 cases were negative, and 240 cases are still awaiting their results,” it added.
