PETALING JAYA: Several localities in Sabah and Kelantan will undergo a two-week lockdown starting from Tuesday (Aug 24).
National Security Council (MKN) director-general Rodzi Md Saad said in his daily statement that the health officials detected an increase in Covid-19 cases in these areas.
The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) is scheduled to end on Sept 6.
In Sabah, the places affected are: Kampung Buanog Matunggong, Kudat, and Kampung Balung Cocos, Tawau.
In Kelantan, the EMCO affects Kampung Telaga Bata, Kampung Kajang Sebidang, and Kampung Bunut Sarang Burung in Tumpat.
Meanwhile the lockdown in two areas in Sabah – namely Kampung Pukat, Tanjung Batu, Tawau, and Kampung Padas, Kota Kinabalu – will be extended to Sept 6, beginning Tuesday.
Besides that, the EMCO will end tomorrow (Aug 23) in several localities in Sabah, namely Blok 11 Kampung Titingan, Kampung Rawa-Rawa, and Batu 4 in Tawau.
The EMCO in several locations are scheduled to end tonight — Kampung Bukit Malut, Langkawi; Desa Keluarga YPK Chendering, Kuala Terengganu; and Kampung Bongkok, Bera, Pahang. - FMT
