Never heard of 'Seremban Move' - N Sembilan MB

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun has denied any knowledge about a “Seremban Move” - an alleged plot to overthrow the state government.

“I have not heard of a ‘Seremban Move’. I don’t know of this issue and I have no interest in entertaining it.

“I am confident in Tok Jalal (state Umno chairperson Jalaluddin Alias) and I refuse to comment on an uncertain issue like this,” Aminuddin (above) was quoted as saying by Harian Metro at an event in Port Dickson.

Jalaludin also denied the allegation, calling it a provocation to threaten the state’s harmony.

He said there were no disputes between BN and Pakatan Harapan assemblypersons in the state.

Umno’s Jalaluddin Alias

“I, as the senior executive council member of the Negeri Sembilan state government, along with 13 other state assemblypersons will continue to support and maintain Aminuddin as the Negeri Sembilan menteri besar.

"We are jointly committed to focusing on developing the economy and society in this state and there is a good understanding between us (BN and Harapan)," he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.

The state assembly is made up of 17 assemblypersons from Harapan, 14 from BN, and five from Perikatan Nasional.

A majority of 19 seats is needed to form the government there.

Dubai Move

Talks of the “Seremban Move” came following the recent reports of the Dubai Move, which was an alleged plot to overthrow the federal government.

Community Communications Department (J-Kom) deputy director Ismail Yusop was the first to reveal the Dubai Move.

Although PN denied the existence of the Dubai Move, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that attempts had been made, stating that they had received intelligence reports on the matter.

Zahid said the plot involved lawmakers from the government bloc as well.

He later proposed a special bill to prevent the government from being overthrown in the middle of a Parliament term.

However, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the enactment of a Fixed-Term Parliament Act (FTPA) is not a priority.

Since the infamous Sheraton Move in 2020, which led to the collapse of the 22-month-old Harapan government, Malaysian politics has witnessed a constant realignment of forces. - Mkini
