PETALING JAYA: Perodua is investigating a complaint involving a Perodua Bezza that allegedly broke down merely eight hours after being purchased from a sales centre.

Perodua chief operating officer JH Rozman Jaafar said the company had been in constant communication with the customer since the issue arose in October.

“Since then, we have taken several actions to resolve the matter, including offering her a courtesy car. We have also proposed to buy back her car.

“Perodua has also assured the customer that her case is being prioritised, and we hereby deny any allegation that no action has been taken to resolve the issue,” Rozman said in a statement.

He added that a “thorough investigation” was being held and further details would be shared in due course.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.”

Previously, clerk S Nagakanni reportedly voiced her dissatisfaction after her recently acquired Perodua Bezza malfunctioned within eight hours of purchase.

Despite the car being stranded at a service centre, she said she was still required to pay the monthly loan instalment of RM537 for the non-functional vehicle.

The car was purchased from a Segamat vehicle sales centre at 11am on October 17, and by 7.40pm the same day, it encountered issues when it was being started. - FMT
