Thirteen of them are students at a secondary school, with police saying the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between two suspects.

Tawau police chief Rosdi Mat Jusoh said the suspects aged 12 to 14 were arrested yesterday before being released on bail, Berita Harian reported.
He added that the other suspect besides the 13 students was a 14-year-old who lacked identification documents and was not attending school.
“Preliminary investigations found that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between two students, which escalated into a fight that later involved the other students.
“A viral video helped police identify the individuals involved and the roles they played in the incident,” said Rosdi.
The case is being probed under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with a weapon, while the 14-year-old undocumented teen is also being investigated under the Immigration Act.
“We are also working with the school and the district education office (to investigate the brawl).” - FMT
