No areas in the country recorded unhealthy air quality as of 6pm today, according to the environment department’s air pollutant index (API) management system.

Instead, 49 stations recorded moderate API readings today.

Stations in Sarawak that recorded moderate readings include Samalaju (98), Bintulu (85), Kuching (77), Sri Aman (75), Samarahan (74), Sibu (72) and Sarikei (67).

Stations that recorded moderate readings in the peninsula were mostly located in Johor, followed by Selangor, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan.

For Johor, Batu Pahat recorded a reading of 91, followed by Kluang (90), Larkin (73), Pasir Gudang (71), Tangkak (70), Segamat (69) and Kota Tinggi and Pengerang both recording 58.

Meanwhile, 19 stations recorded healthy readings, mostly in the northern states and east coast states like Kelantan and Terengganu, as well as a few in Sabah.

Tanjung Malim in Perak and Kota Kinabalu in Sabah topped the list with 49. - FMT
