They can purchase homes under the PPA1M scheme even though they are not in the civil service, says Ali Hamsa.
KUALA LUMPUR: The children of government pensioners can now buy affordable houses under the 1Malaysia Civil Servant Housing Scheme (PPA1M), says Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa.
He said this followed the government’s decision to allow the children of government pensioners to buy houses ranging from RM150,000 to RM300,000 for landed or strata units.
“It is possible that all pensioners already have their own houses, but their children can also purchase PPA1M houses even though they are not working with the government,” he said in his speech at the 2018 “Khidmat Bakti” programme here last night.
However, he did not elaborate on the details.
At the event, he also announced that the medical benefits enjoyed by parents of civil servants would continue even after they retire.
He also called on all government pensioners to continue helping the government by disseminating information on government policies to prevent inaccurate information from being circulated among the people as it could undermine economic stability and national development.
He also advised government pensioners to share their views on the government through proper platforms to maintain the credibility and image of the civil service. -FMT
