Husam: PAS gov't fond of 'document secrecy' like BN?

Salor assemblyperson Husam Musa has ridiculed the PAS Kelantan government for preferring to keep controversial documents secret, than to be transparent in face of allegations.
The Amanah vice-president, responding to the Kelantan government threat of legal action over his allegations over the construction of a highway in Machang, said his claims were based on existing documentary proof.
“My allegations are based on documents. These documents exist.
“The only thing is, they are 'secret',” said Husam in a statement today.
“Why is PAS unwilling to be transparent with problems of the state and people's interest, and prefers to hide behind 'secret' and 'confidential'?” he said.
Yesterday, Kelantan works, infrastructure, utilities and information technology committee chairperson Hanifa Ahmad said the state government was considering legal action against Husam, who had questioned the termination of the contract of the company involved in the construction of the 10km-People's Highway from Berangan Mek Nab to Bukit Tiu in Machang.
Husam made the allegations at a forum on December 28, where he “went solo” after he was scheduled to face off with a PAS representative.
'How different from BN?'
He noted how the PAS Kelantan was fond of secrecy in his past allegations, asking how the Islamist party is different from the federal BN government.
“When I exposed weaknesses in the Kompleks Perkayuan Kelantan (KPK) based on the state audit report, a Kelantan exco member had threatened to make a police report, saying the document was confidential,” he said.
Likewise, he said, his allegations of information fraud and misuse of the original purpose surrounding the Carbon Credit project, he had been threatened with legal action for exposing confidential documents.
“And once again, the Kelantan exco is threatening to take legal action because the documents I exposed on Dec 28 were 'important documents'.
“What is the difference between the ethics of the Islamic government under PAS, and the BN government that is said to be secular?” he asked.
BN has repeatedly been criticised for using the Official Secrets Act (OSA) to prevent public scrutiny of various reports and contracts, for example the 1MDB auditor-general's report and various concessionaires' contracts.- Mkini
