Bersatu leaders urged to act against ‘traitorous’ Temerloh chief

Bersatu's top leadership has been urged to take action against its Temerloh division chief Amerus Che Onn for statements that allegedly brought the party’s image into disrepute.
The call was made by Temerloh deputy chief Mohd Anuar Aziz today, at a press conference held at Bersatu’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya.
"In my opinion, his recent remarks were an attempt to tarnish the party's reputation.

"We view him as a traitor (to the party). When dealing with a traitor, we leave it to the party's leadership to make a decision," said Anuar (photo), when asked whether he believed that Amerus should be sacked for his remarks.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Amerus had claimed that Bersatu's first annual general assembly on Dec 30 was a “self-serving” event, as it was only fighting for the interests of a certain individual, and there were no initiatives raised at the assembly to resolve the party’s internal crises.
The division chief also said that delegates at the AGM were not elected according to the Bersatu constitution, as there were no prior assemblies held at branch and division levels.
Anuar dismissed the claim, explaining that many Bersatu branches have yet to be formed, while divisions formed in July 2017 are only required to hold their annual meetings before July this year.
Amerus had also called for the resignation of Dr Mahathir Mohamad as Bersatu and Pakatan Harapan chairperson, saying that the former premier was only fighting for his personal interest.

"I am very disappointed that he (Amerus) would go as far as to call for Mahathir's resignation.
"This is too much because it does not only hurt Bersatu, but also insults the entire Harapan leadership," Anuar said.
He also revealed that the division leaders and some 500 members submitted a motion of no confidence against Amerus to the party's central leaders in August.
Also present during the press conference was Temerloh Bersatu division information chief Nur Hisham Asaludin.
The Registrar of Societies had previously warned Bersatu that it could face deregistration for allegedly failing to hold its AGM, postponing it not according to the party’s constitution, and not formally setting up its Youth wing.- Mkini
