Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has said he would welcome officers from Felda headquarters to explain on issues pertaining to the organisation to the settlers in the Bera parliamentary constituency.
Ismail Sabri, who is also Bera MP, said the right explanation was needed so that the settlers would not get confused with the many issues surrounding Felda, particularly the controversial issue of the alleged dubious land deal, which the opposition might take advantage of.
“We hope that the issues on Felda would be answered personally by the Felda people who are well-versed on what is happening. It is better for them to explain themselves than the politicians.
“Some may not take it (explanation) seriously if it comes from the politicians. We want the people to get the explanation from the right people,” he told reporters after launching the Bera P090 Polling Day Simulation programme organised by the Pahang Umno Training Bureau at Kompleks Rakan Muda in Bera today.
Also present were Guai state assemblyperson Norol Azali Sulaiman, Kemayan state assemblyperson Mohd Fadil Osman and Padang Tengku state assemblyperson Mustapa Long.
