Tourism Malaysia in Indonesia will hold a Malaysian cuisine programme or "Taste of Malaysia" at several hotels and venues in Jakarta during the 2018 Asian Games.
Its director Roslan Othman said the programme will not only provide a food alternative to Malaysian sports fans in Jakarta, but also promote Malaysian cuisine among the Indonesians and sports fans from all over Asia.
"The Malaysian cuisine programme will be held at five hotels and selected venues in Jakarta during the Asian Games from Aug 18 to Sept 2," he told reporters at the launch of the programme in Hotel Sahira in Bogor.
The opening of “Taste of Malaysia” was launched by Malaysian deputy ambassador to Indonesia, Zamshari Shaharan.
Zamshari said he hoped the good relations between the leaders of Indonesia and Malaysia will be translated among the people of both countries through the cooking and food programme.

Hotel Sahira's general manager Ibrahim Ishak said the programme was a joint venture with Hotel Adya Langkawi, which brought in two of its chefs to prepare Malaysian food for the ongoing programme which ends on Aug 15.
Among the 40 popular and traditional Malaysian cuisine are Kedah laksa, nasi ulam, Johor laksa, nasi dagang, masak lemak cili api and mee udang. -Mkini
