Bung gets final warning after F-bomb

PARLIAMENT | Dewan Rakyat speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof issued a final warning to Bung Moktar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) today for uttering the four-letter word on Tuesday.
The former apex court judge said he will not hesitate to eject Bung from the House for a period of time, citing clause 44 of the Dewan Rakyat's Standing Order.
"I wish to stress the usage of impolite and lewd language is not allowed in the sitting and stern action will be taken," Ariff said.
"If the word is ever uttered again, I will not hesitate to eject him from the House, or I will cite any other punishment spelt out under the clause 44 without taking into consideration their parties.
"This is especially in the case of Kinabatangan, if he ever repeats again, he will be ejected immediately from the House for a period of time," the speaker said.
Ariff raised the matter after receiving a letter with joint signature of 56 MPs who protested the derogatory words used by Bung this morning.
Bung, the vocal Sabah Umno deputy chief known for making controversial remarks, uttered the 'F-word' twice during the debate of Sales Tax Bill 2018 on Aug 7 after Willie Mongin (Harapan-Puncak Borneo) questioned if the former went to a casino.
Ramkarpal Singh (Harapan-Bukit Gelugor), however not happy with speaker's decision, which he described as merely a slap on the wrist.
He said Bung simply withdrew the foul word and apologised to escape disciplinary action.
"It was quite obvious that his withdrawal was not pure," said the DAP lawmaker.

Ramkarpal further pointed out that deputy speaker Nga Kor Ming had told Bung to remain in the House as the speaker will be making a ruling in relation to his foul language.
"But he's not even in the house. He knew he is about to receive the ruling from the speaker. So, this is another sign of disrespect," he added.
Ramkarpal then mooted the House to eject Bung for a period of time, citing that he himself was barred from the House for two days for uttering 'samseng' (gangster).
He was ejected on July 18 after declining to withdraw the word against the Umno member who mobbed his late father Karpal Singh back in 2009. - Mkini
