EPF Prevents Retirees From Taking Out Their Money.

Three years ago I reached the age of 55.  I withdrew my EPF savings. However I still continued contributing to the EPF as I was still employed. 

Plus the EPF pays a dividend. Usually better than the Fixed Deposit rates. Also, after 55 years you can withdraw any or all your EPF savings at any time. So it was at that time. 

It is called Simpanan Hari Tua and after 55 years you are deemed as 'Sudah Tua'. 

So being an Orang Tua (past 55) you can take out your Simpanan Hari Tua. 

I went to the EPF a few weeks ago to take out the rest of my Simpanan Hari Tua.

And now at age 58, I am much more tua than I was three years ago.

To my shock the EPF people said that I could NOT take out the remainder of my Simpanan Hari Tua until I reached 60 years of age !!

Pasal apa pula?  Why this arbitrary change?

The girl said the EPF "changed the rules" in January 2018 !!  Under the Kleptocracy of Najib Razak. 

(Obviously they needed my money to buy government bonds so that the government could pay off that 1MDB debt.)

But the EPF did not ask me. They should have made a public announcement and given the "past 55 yrs" people like me some grace period to decide whether to leave my money with the EPF or withdraw the remaining funds.  

Saya sudah tua. Ini Simpanan Hari Tua saya.  Why should I have to wait until 60 years of age before I can take out the BALANCE of my savings post 55 yrs (pasca umur 55 tahun)?  

Can the new Pakatan Harapan government please reverse this strange and unfair EPF ruling asap.   Do not hold back the retirees money.

That is more than enough money. Please "unfreeze" my 'Akaun 55'. 

I need to take out my 'Simpanan Hari Tua'.
