PETALING JAYA – The opposition today rubbished a viral poster circulating on social media of a purported shadow Cabinet by Barisan Nasional and PAS.
It features PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang as defence minister and MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong as finance minister.
Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin is listed as agriculture and agro-based industry minister while former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Azalina Othman is featured as the law minister.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man told FMT the poster was the work of “cyber-militants”.
“There is no need for this,” he said when contacted today.
Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob said there was no shadow Cabinet, as affirmed by Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid yesterday said the opposition would not have a shadow Cabinet to keep the ruling government in check.
However, he said some MPs would be allocated certain portfolios to focus on specific issues that were being debated in Parliament.
He added it was not necessary to have a shadow Cabinet as it would be a Cabinet of empty dreams.
