KAPAR: Kapar MP Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid has apologised for his claim of an alleged plot to stop PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim from becoming the next prime minister.
He said he had apologised to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and sent a letter to him explaining the situation.
“I raised (the issue) until it dragged down Mahathir’s good name.
“The statement was not true,” he said at a press conference here today.
He said Anwar had explained the matter to him, and that he now understood the power transition between the two leaders.
He voiced hope that there would not be any conspiracy over the Pakatan Harapan consensus to appoint Anwar as the eighth prime minister. -FMT
