KUANTAN (Bernama): Kuala Lipis residents had a big scare when a massive hailstorm hit the sleepy town for about 20 minutes on Friday evening.
In the 6.45pm incident, hailstones up to marble size got people scurrying to protect their cars, especially the windshields.
Being a rare event in the peninsula, people were naturally curious and started scooping up the “snowballs” and spreading the pictures on social media.

A resident, Ahmad Nazree Sahbudin, 35, said it started to rain suddenly followed by loud cracking sounds when the hailstones started pounding parked cars.
“This was the first time we experienced a hailstorm, so you can imagine our mixed emotions, excitement and fear,” he said. - Bernama
