Mum finds out babysitter abusing her baby through viral FB post

She recognises that child being shown in video is her baby, aged 10 months, and lodges police report.
JOHOR BAHRU: A mother surfing through Facebook was shocked when the baby she saw abused in a video recording turned out to be her 10-month-old son whom she had sent to a babysitter’s house in Indahpura, near Kulai, a fortnight ago.
Kulai district police chief Supt Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the baby’s mother, 31, realised it was her baby when she saw a video recording of the incident which had gone viral on Facebook.
She lodged a report at the Kulai police station at 8.38am today.
“According to the report, the mother was watching a video recording which had gone viral on Facebook at 1.30pm yesterday, showing a baby boy being beaten by a babysitter.
“The complainant recognised the baby as her son who had been sent to the babysitter’s house in Indahpura, Kulai.
“Upset over the babysitter’s actions, she came to the police station to lodge a report,” he said.
Dzulkhairi said initial investigations found that the baby was first sent to the babysitter, a 62-year-old woman, last December.
He said the baby was sent to the babysitter’s house every Sunday and stayed there until Friday when he would be taken home.
He said before the video recording went viral, the baby’s mother, a housewife, had heard negative comments about the babysitter and had stopped sending the baby there for the past two weeks.
Dzulkhairi said police were investigating the case under Section 31(1)(c) of the Child Act 2001 and so far, no arrests have been made.
