KOTA KINABALU: Preparations for the swearing-in of former chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman (pic) as Sungai Sibuga assemblyman have been made at the state speaker's office.
State speaker Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali said Musa's representatives had informed the office that the former chief minister would be taking his oath on Friday (Aug 24).
"They have informed us that he will be swearing-in this evening, but whether or not he will turn up is another question," Syed Abas said.
He said preparations had been made and they were now just waiting for Musa to show up.
.Syed Abas said everything would proceed as planned if he turned up.
Musa was reported to have returned to Malaysia on Tuesday (Aug 21) and is now warded at a private hospital in Subang Jaya.
He has until Sept 11 to be sworn in as assemblyman or risk having the seat vacated.
Musa was arrested on Thursday (Aug 23) morning and is now on police bail.
He is wanted by police for a criminal intimidation case against the Sabah head of state as well as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for various offences.- Star
