Musa Aman suffering from 'grave medical condition' and unfit to travel, claims his lawyer

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman is claiming to be suffering from a "grave medical condition" and is temporarily unfit to fly back to Malaysia.
Musa through his lawyers has sent a letter to the State Assembly Speaker, saying that due to his medical conditions, he would not be able to take his oath as Sungai Sibuga assemblyman at the state assembly sitting scheduled for Monday (Aug 13).
Musa's counsel, Tengku Fuad Tengku Ahmad said they have explained Musa's medical conditions and have requested for the Speaker for an extension for him to take his oath.
Musa, who is wanted by police investigating a criminal intimidation report lodged by Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, is required by to take his oath by the third sitting of the assembly.
According to the law, if the Sungai Sibuga assemblyman fails to turn up for the Aug 13 and 14 sitting - the third since the first sitting on June 11 - the state assembly could declare the seat won by Musa in GE14 as vacant.
Article 22 (2) of the Sabah Constitution states that: "If a member has not taken his seat within three months from the date on which the Legislative Assembly first sits after his election or appointment, or within such further period as the Assembly may allow, his seat shall become vacant."
"He also sought a special dispensation and an extension of time be sworn in on medical grounds where the absolute discretion to grant the same rests with the Speaker," Tengku Fuad said.
He said Musa has informed the Speaker that he is currently undergoing a series of medical treatment and tests for which he was hospitalised, where he was deemed unfit to travel.
He said Musa is currently awaiting the results of the medical tests and diagnosis to determine his medical needs and whether it was safe for him to endure the long flight back to Sabah.
"Specifically, the doctors must determine the best way in which to plan his future regime of treatment in addition to making plans for his future care once he returns to Sabah," Tengku Fuad said.
Musa's son Yamani, who won the Sipitang Parliamentary seat, has also been missing from Sabah and is believed to be with his father in London. Yamani has six months to be sworn in.
Both Musa and Yamani have not taken their respective oaths as members of the Sabah Legislative Assemby and the Federal Parliament respectively.
Musa also assured his supporters that he will return to Sabah soon to claim his rightful and lawful position as chief minister.- Star

  1. Hmmmm!! 3 Question.
    1. Did his medical condition permit him to travel out of Sabah during that time?
    2. Did he suffer from any illness during his swearing in ceremony becaue he look so strong and healhty during that time.
    3. Why did he flee the country instead of apply to leave the country on normal channel if he is sick.
Well the answer is what goes around comes around Dato Musa. Enjoy your freedom while you can like your former bis Najib. Good luck to both of you and many more of your umno friends waiting in line.
p/s My advice in worst case scenario is do not bend down to pick up the soap.
