Former premier Najib Abdul Razak has urged Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali to clear the air on whether he met Singaporean senior officers to discuss the High-Speed Rail (HSR) project.
"Azmin had said something that was contradicted by the Singapore ministry (of transport).
"In terms of international diplomacy, this is very serious. You have to tell the truth," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby this afternoon.
Yesterday, Azmin said he met with several senior officials in Singapore to discuss the HSR project when he visited Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, who had undergone treatment in the republic.
The PKR leader also described the meeting as "very positive".
However, Singapore's Ministry of Transport (MOT) denied that Azmin met with "senior officials" regarding the project.
News portal Today Online quoted an MOT spokesperson as saying that no meeting had been scheduled between Azmin and its officials nor did any take place between the two parties.
