Apex court finds lawyer Arun Kasi guilty of contempt

Lawyer Arun Kasi has been found guilty of contempt over statements he made pertaining to a particular case judgment.

According to Bernama, he was found guilty by the Federal Court this morning, following contempt proceedings initiated by Attorney-General Tommy Thomas.

This was over Arun's statements online concerning the Federal Court's decision to expunge a dissenting judgment by Court of Appeal judge Hamid Sultan Abu Backer in the case of Leap Modulation Sdn Bhd vs PCP Construction Sdn Bhd.

Arun had previously asserted that his comments constituted fair criticism.
