BN-era youth initiative iM4U rebranded as Impact Malaysia

Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has today announced the rebranding of 1Malaysia for Youth (iM4U) as Impact Malaysia, along with an RM10 million allocation for the youth volunteerism platform.
However, Syed Saddiq emphasised that Impact Malaysia is more than just a change in name.
"I personally don't like to rebrand something without giving it further enhancements or impact.
"Hence, Impact Malaysia is completely different from iM4U," he said in a media conference after launching Impact Malaysia in Puchong today.
Syed Saddiq added that his ministry had allocated RM10 million to Impact Malaysia, in order to promote youth development and social innovation.
He explained that not all programmes under the previous government would be rebranded, and pointed to initiatives that would retain their names, such as Fit Malaysia, Rakan Muda, Youth Parliament, and the Perdana Fellowship.
Impact Malaysia joins a list of other BN-era government initiatives that have been rebranded under the Pakatan Harapan administration.
These include Bantuan Sara Hidup (formerly known as 1Malaysia People’s Aid); the Village Community Management Council (formerly known as the Village Development and Security Committees); Village Community Centres (formerly known as Rural Transformation Centres); and Genius (formerly known as Permata).    - Mkini
