JOHOR BARU – All 26 Johor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) division chiefs have thrown their support behind Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal nearly two weeks after he was appointed Johor Mentri Besar.
Johor Bersatu deputy chairman Senator Md Nasir Hashim said that besides the division chiefs, its Armada and Srikandi wings also voiced support for Dr Sahruddin.
“We had a meeting which was chaired by Dr Sahruddin where he met with state party leaders and we voiced out our suggestions and concerns.
“Following the meeting, all of us agreed to support him,” Md Nasir said when met after the meeting held at the state Bersatu headquarters here Saturday (April 27).
When asked why the show of support came only weeks after Dr Sahruddin had been appointed as Mentri Besar, Md Nasir replied that the state Bersatu had been busy with the Rantau by-election.
It was reported that Dr Sahruddin had been appointed as the 17th Johor Mentri Besar on April 14 following the resignation of Datuk Osman Sapian earlier this month.
