Cops to probe after Najib's ex-aide uploads videos of his trial

Police will initiate an investigation after an ex-aide of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak uploaded onto social media video clips of his ongoing court trial.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said police had yet to receive a police report on the matter and therefore will be lodging their own report in order to commence an investigation.
"We will investigate first to determine what offence has been committed before proceeding with further investigation," he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.
Yesterday, Hizatul Isham Abdul Jalil had uploaded video clips of the trial showing two witnesses testifying in court. They were involved in constructing a new guard post and water tank at Najib's Jalan Langgak Duta residence.
In his post, Hizatul Isham claimed there were "problems" with the prosecution's theory that Najib had used state-owned SRC International Sdn Bhd's funds for his personal benefit.
He also claimed the prosecution could not prove that Najib ordered SRC International to deposit funds into his personal bank account through two intermediaries.
"Perhaps that is why the prosecution is trying to shift the attention to show that Najib is supposedly using SRC funds to renovate his home and had used them for his personal benefit instead of showing that he had ordered SRC to deposit money into his own account for that purpose," he said.
Hizatul Isham said the renovations were a necessity as Najib received many visitors at the Langgak Duta home.
The recording showed witnesses being questioned by Najib's lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah. The witnesses had said that the renovations were needed.
Hizatul Isham also defended the uploading of the videos, stating that court rules prohibited live streaming of the proceedings or personal recordings.
He said the uploaded videos were neither as it they were taken from the court's own Court Recording and Transcript (CRT) system. - mkini
