KUALA LUMPUR: More than 50% of customer accounts affected by the scheduled water disruption due to upgrading works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant (LRA SSP2) had their water supply restored by 6pm today.
According to a statement by Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd’s customer relationship and communication department head Abdul Raof Ahmad, the company was taking all necessary action to release water.
“We are working to stabilise the pressure and water flow in the distribution system and accelerate the recovery of water supply to all affected customers,” he said.
Customers will be updated with the latest information on recovery efforts through its official website www.syabas.com.my, Facebook page “Air Selangor”, Twitter handle @ air_selangor and the Air Selangor smartphone app which can be downloaded on Google Play and App Store.
For emergency water supply assistance, customers may send the SMS Tanker to 15300 or via WhatsApp to 019-281 6793 or 019-280 0919.
The water supply disruption, which began on Wednesday, affects 577 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor.
It involves 620,835 account holders of Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas). - FMT
