Johor MB explains exco changes, says wanted people he can work with

Newly minted Johor Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal said changes were made to the state executive council line-up because he wanted those whom he is comfortable working with.
He was commenting on the axing of Mazlan Bujang from Bersatu and Tan Hong Pin from DAP.
“As I said before, I was identifying excos whom I would be comfortable working with. This is because we are working for the people.
“I am also a civil servant. I must ensure that the work entrusted to me is carried out,” he told a press conference in Nusajaya today.
Previously, Malaysiakini reported that Mazlan and Tan would be dropped as the two are not in the Johor palace's good books.
However, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said this morning that the palace had no influence on the lineup.
Elaborating, Sahruddin said that all the excos have been entrusted to focus on their respective duties, and do less politicking, as the people are counting on them to fulfill the promises made.
Sahruddin further thanked Puteri Wangsa assemblyperson Mazlan Bujang, and Skudai assemblyperson Tan Hong Pin, who were dropped from the line-up, for their services rendered.
Sahruddin, apart from being the menteri besar, will handle the Natural Resources, Finance, Planning and Economic Development Committee.
Below are the new exco members, their constituencies and their respective portfolios in the reshuffled state executive council:
