MALAYSIA’S DANGEROUS COCOON CLUB – FROM ROYAL ADVISERS TO INTELLECTUAL ‘PROSTITUTES’? SAD TO SAY, THE BATTLE HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN…

Intellectual Cowardice – Trademark of ‘Intelek Tempatan’

Here is some news :
IIUM associate professor Shamrahayu Abdul Aziz
USIM law lecturers Fareed Mohd Hassan and Hisham Hanapi
four academics have not countered critiques
they have been as quiet as church mice in the public domain
Two declined – two not responded – to invitations to speak
AG, Prof Shad Faruqi and Asheeq Ali confirmed participation
The stage is set for a productive teaching and learning session
Gerak calls upon four academics, from universities funded by taxpayers
to come and speak at this public forum, to debate their stand.
Academics must defend the credibility and integrity of their work
Academic reputations – individual and institutional – must be earned and upheld

Gerak called four academics to debate their stand at public forum April 27
forum convened by civil society, academic organisations, Gerak
leak of executive summary by the academics
UiTM deputy VC professor Rahmat Mohamad

My comments :  Its not exactly a coincidence.
The FOUR individual academics who wrote that “paper” about the ICC and are now “chicken sh_t cow@rdly” to step forward and defend their writing are all professors from the IPTA or public universities, funded by the taxpayers.
I attend dozens of seminars, talks, conferences organised by ‘public universities’ or institutions. Its always the same. The speakers will always be those of the same religion, same language and same race.

It is called the Cocoon Club.
Inside the Cocoon Club  the outside world aka the real world is not relevant. Be it academic discourse, religious discourse, economic policy, politics or whatever the Cocoon Club hibernates inside within its own unworkable rules and regulations.
Their rules do not work but the Cocoon Club does not care.
They do not need to interact with the real world.
Just restrict the discussions to members of the Cocoon Club.
Inside the cocoon, only club members are allowed to speak.
Everybody feels good.
Until someone ‘leaked’ what was being said inside the cocoon.
So what next?
The answer is easy : Resort to force.
Arrest them, threaten them, (maybe with May 13 again, and again).
Get the Jamban fellow to threaten violence.
Abduct them – make them disappear.
These are all real options.
They have all been tried before.
There is no need to say this but what to do there are so many cocoon members, so let me say it : cocoons do not work.
