MORATORIUM ON NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN MONT KIARA & SRI HARTAMAS? BUT IT MAY BE TOO LATE – OVERSUPPLY DUE TO FREE-FOR-ALL ISSUANCE OF LICENCES DURING KU NAN’S TIME MAY TAKE DECADES TO STABILIZE

KUALA LUMPUR: A proposed moratorium on new developments in Mont Kiara and Sri Hartamas has been sent to Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, says Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh.
She said the moratorium was sent on March 25 following complaints raised by residents who were unhappy with the traffic congestion in the area due to unplanned development and an ineffective traffic dispersal system.
“I had an engagement session with residents last month and they are not happy with the traffic problem here,” said Yeoh.
She said Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) had proposed an access road from the Malay reserve area and Sungai Penchala to the Kuala Lumpur Penchala Link, as well as upgrading works in Persiaran Dutamas and NKVE junction

“Until the traffic improves, there should not be any new development in this area,” she added during the unveiling of an outdoor gym set at Jalan 34/71A, Desa Sri Hartamas.
The parks included Taman Tasik Majalara; Jalan Setiapuspa, Medan Damansara; Jalan Udang Galah 3, Taman Cuepacs and Jalan Sri Hartamas 3, Taman Sri Hartamas.
The gym sets consist of 14 units of outdoor gym fitness stations costing 93,183.78.
“The equipment will be handed over to DBKL for maintenance.
“A total of 30% of last year’s allocation were used on upgrading school facilities so that students can enjoy a more comfortable environment.
“This year, the allocation will be used more on recreational upgrade so residents here can enjoy clean and functional exercise equipment,” she said.
