Najib cries foul over unfair coverage of his trial

Former prime minister Najib Razak.
PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Najib Razak today cried foul over unfair coverage of his ongoing court case.
In a Facebook post today, Najib voiced concern over news reports published by “government-controlled media” on his case.
“I am worried that these reports do not paint an accurate picture to the rakyat.
“The rakyat deserve transparency and to know the truth.
“Again, I wish to urge the government to provide live coverage of my trial, whether through Facebook Live or YouTube,” he said.
While he did not specify which part of the coverage is unfair, it is understood that the Pekan MP was referring to news reports which state that it cost more than RM200,000 to build a wardrobe and pantry at his house.
This was revealed by Zulkarnain Mohamad, an interior design company owner, during the ongoing trial involving the former prime minister.
In another Facebook post, Najib shared a link of a petition requesting live coverage of his trial. To date, over 50,000 have signed the petition.
Najib is facing three counts of criminal breach of trust, one charge of abusing his position and three counts of money laundering over SRC International Sdn Bhd funds amounting to RM42 million.
The trial resumes on Monday. - FMT
