Johor will have a new state executive council lineup soon, says newly minted Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal.
Speaking at his first press conference after being sworn in as the 17th menteri besar this morning, Sahruddin noted that his executive council will focus on continuing the state government's efforts to help the people of Johor.
"It is normal that whenever there are changes in top leadership, there will be changes in portfolio (holders).
"Like (former Johor menteri besar) Osman Sapian who had his own team, I will also have my team. I will be choosing excos from among assemblypersons whom I feel comfortable working with.
"What is important is how we can help ensure that the people will enjoy all the developments that we have planned," he told reporters in Johor Bahru.
At the press conference, Sahruddin said that he would announce his new exco lineup sooner than the conventional 14-day period after assuming office.
'Main man'
He also extended his appreciation to Osman, who he described as "the main man" in ensuring Pakatan Harapan's victory in the state during last year's general election.

"I would also like to extend my utmost appreciation to Osman. In the time that he helmed the Johor state government, he carried out many plans.
"Insya Allah, I will continue the agenda which has been set," he said.
Sahruddin takes over from Osman, who stepped down from the menteri besar post just 11 months after Harapan seized the state from BN.
When Sultan Ibrahim summoned Osman for a second audience yesterday, he set a condition for his successor to revamp the existing executive council lineup.
However, Johor PKR chief Hassan Karim later pointed out that the ruler has no power to do so.
"The Johor excos are accountable to the state assembly. This means the state assembly is the responsibility of the Harapan majority parties.
"So the sultan has no power to revamp the exco lineup, the winning parties have the power," he had said.
