(The Star) – A police report was lodged against PKR leader and former academician Prof Dr Syed Husin Ali for allegedly citing provocative statements against the Malay Rulers.
The NGO Sahabat Erat dan Amanat Rakyat (Sedar) lodged a police report at the Brickfields police station hours after a forum on the Rome Statute at Universiti Malaya, stating that Syed Husin had uttered words which evoked hatred against the Rulers during the discussion. Nazrin Norani, president of Sedar, filed the report.
“The statement (by Syed Husin) was followed by thunderous clapping from the audience at the forum and there was no reaction or statement to debunk that provocative statement from moderator Kamarul Bahrin Haron or Attorney General Tommy Thomas.
Syed Husin had uttered those word to provoke others to go against the Malay Rulers,” said Nazrin in his report.
