Today, the Malay Mail Online came out with an article titled “This is how else the RM24 billion bailouts for Felda, Tabung Haji could have been used and abused”. In that article, they said RM24 billion could buy 30,125 Hermes handbags or 219 pink diamonds. That is a cheap shot and anyone with brains will know it was an attack on Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor.
First of all, if VVIP wives owning Hermes handbags is a big issue, many VVIP wives, such as wives of Ministers and Menteri Besar, owned Hermes handbags long before Rosmah became the First Lady in 2009. In fact, I know of a wife of a very senior PPBM leader who already owned Hermes handbags 25 years before that when he was still just a Menteri Besar.
And this pink diamond story has already been proven a lie. So why does the Malay Mail Online still want to keep this story alive? Is the Malay Mail Online able to publish the documents or evidence to prove that the pink diamond does exist when even the Jabatan Kastam and the alleged supplier from New York have denied the story? Tak habis-habis dengan fitnah!
And why use the RM24 billion bailouts for Felda and Tabung Haji as the comparison in this story? Since 1981, when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad first became Prime Minister, there have been many bailouts. Konsortium Perkapalan, Bank Bumiputra, Malaysian Airlines, the Chinese cooperatives, Perwaja, Maminco, Tabung Pemulihan Usahawan, Bank Negara…I could go on.
Today, that US$100 billion is equivalent to almost RM1 trillion. So why is the Malay Mail Online only talking about the RM24 billion bailout for Felda and Tabung Haji when close to RM1 trillion has been flushed down the toilet by three previous governments due to bad decisions and abuse of power? I suppose because they want to only attack Najib Razak dan bukan Perdana Menteri sebelumnya. - Malaysia Today
