Drug bust: IGP confirms 16 individuals tested positive

Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador confirmed that police have nabbed 17 individuals including six women in a raid at a condominium along Jalan Puchong in the wee hours on Sunday morning.
However, Hamid (above) refused to identify those nabbed pending the result of the second drug test on the individuals.
His confirmation followed a viral post alleging that Dengkil assemblyperson Adhif Syan Abdullah was recently nabbed with 10 other unidentified ministry officers.
Hamid said a team of cops from the Brickfields district police headquarters went to check and found the suspects were having a party in the condo unit.

"Police found a packet suspected to contain ketamine weighing 0.5g, a plate filled with powder suspected to be ketamine weighing 0.3g, a stick of cigarette suspected to contain weed, as well as playing cards and chips believed to be for gambling.
"The (urine) test results show that 16 of them were tested positive for drugs while the other man was tested negative.
"Police recorded all of their statements and today, after the statements completed, they were released under police bail except for a foreign woman who is still being detained," he said in a media conference at Bukit Aman today.
When pressed to confirm whether those arrested are linked to a political party, Hamid declined to do so.
"At the moment, it's safe for me to only say an operation had been conducted. It will be sub judice to identify them prior to next (drug) testing.
"If anyone wants to confess, go ahead," he added.
Asked when the second test result would be obtained, Hamid said he will not push his men.
"I understand the department has a limitation (on workload). I won't burden and push them," he said.
This morning, Adhif (photo) had dismissed the allegation, saying that it was an attempt to sabotage him ahead of Bersatu's inaugural party elections soon.
"I was at home. The time, date, location (of alleged arrest) I don't know where they picked it up from," he told Malaysiakini today.
The Selangor Bersatu Youth chief also claimed he had a meeting with his members in Dengkil before returning home last night.
However, later, Adhif told News Straits Times Press reporters that he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
"I cannot make any comments on the issue because it is under investigation. I have been advised not to do so (comment).
"But I can say that I was at the wrong place at the wrong time... But I wish to stress that I am on the side of truth," he said. - Mkini
