PETALING JAYA: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on the public to tackle the Covid-19 situation calmly and responsibly.
"Despite the increase of positive cases, which is worrying, both (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) and I call on the public to keep abreast with the latest health developments.
"Follow the advice from the Health Ministry, be wary of fake news, and report to the Klinik Kesihatan if necessary," he said this in a Facebook post on Saturday (March 7).
The post included a two-minute video of him and Wan Azizah advising the public on Covid-19.
Anwar also thanked the efforts carried out by the Health Ministry, as well as the public and private health agencies in carrying out immediate actions, observation and treatment as well as systematic measures to tackle the situation.
Dr Wan Azizah, a former deputy prime minister, advised the public to be more aware of their personal health and hygiene during at the moment.
"We need to take care of our personal hygiene, and if necessary, practice self-quarantine (if there are Covid-19 symptoms) to protect others," she added.
At the time of writing, the video received over 4,000 Likes, with people thanking Anwar and Dr Wan Azizah for the advice.
As of Saturday, the Health Ministry announced that it has detected 10 new positive 19 cases in the country, bringing the total cases to 93.
