Azmin’s camp in the cabinet: All except deputy speaker Rashid Hasnon

Malaysiakini

All except one of the former PKR leaders who defected along with Azmin Ali to join the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition government have been appointed into the new cabinet.
The only one who did not get a cabinet position is Batu Pahat MP Mohd Rashid Hasnon, who is already the Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker.
Among those aligned to Azmin (photo) in the cabinet now are Zuraida Kamaruddin who retained her post as Housing and Local Government Minister, Saifuddin Abdullah, Kamaruddin Jaafar, Mansor Othman, Jonathan Yasin, Willie Mongin and Santhara Kumar.
Azmin, meanwhile, is now the international trade and industries minister.
On Feb 24, Azmin and 10 other MPs had announced they were quitting PKR to form an independent bloc in Parliament.
They then joined the new PN coalition which consists of BN, PAS and Bersatu, with the support of GPS.
While almost all of Azmin’s camp scored a seat in the cabinet, PAS only has three of its leaders in the cabinet.
They are PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali, The trio are now the environmental minister, de facto law minister, and plantations and commodities minister respectively.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang was not listed on the cabinet list, along with Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Another name on the cabinet list is Sarawak governor Abdul Taib Mahmud’s daughter, Hanifah Taib, who was appointed as the deputy transport minister.  - Mkini
