CORONAVIRUS | Seventy-six Malaysians and five non-Malaysians were repatriated from Italy through another humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission organised by the government to bring home Malaysians abroad following the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the National Disaster Management Agency, the special AirAsia flight arrived at KL International Airport in Sepang at 10.06am today.
Also on board were five Health Ministry staff, one from the Foreign Ministry, 20 AirAsia crew members and one Nadma officer.
All the 81 people were required to undergo health screenings at the Air Disaster Unit at the airport before being transferred to a monitoring centre at the Higher Education Leadership Academy in Nilai for a 14-day quarantine.
The decontamination operation was mounted by 263 members of various agencies, including the Fire and Rescue Department, Health Ministry, Nadma, Air Asia Engineering, Airport Fire and Rescue Service, the police and KLIA Aviation Security. - Bernama
