Doctor flays patients and visitors for stealing hand sanitisers

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | A doctor has hit out at both patients and visitors whom he claimed have stolen hand sanitisers from the hospital he works at.
Dr Ahmad Mahyuddin Mohamed, an orthopaedic surgeon based at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh lamented that many of the hospital’s sanitisers have been stolen.
“Hand sanitisers are the property of the people and the government. They are not your personal belongings!
“Do you really think that sanitisers which do not belong to you will protect you from Covid-19?” he said in a tweet.
Mahyuddin was responding to a tweet of a person claiming that she had taken a hand sanitiser from a hospital.
“Just take it from the hospital, it’s free,” she tweeted, posting a picture of the hand sanitiser she had purportedly taken.
Aside from the doctor’s annoyed response, others also criticised the individual for her actions.
“So how does it feel to be a thief?
“You’re worse than Covid-19,” another tweeted.
The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) told Malaysiakini that it would verify whether there were other complaints made in relation to stolen hand sanitisers.
As of today, the country’s Covid-19 cases have reached 900 following 110 new infections recorded.
Of the 110 new cases, 63 have been traced back to the cluster of infections from a religious gathering in Seri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, which took place from Feb 27 to March 1. - Mkini
