Some people are still stubborn - Selangor CID chief

Malaysiakini

The second day of the movement control order (MCO) saw Selangor police resuming their operations to ensure that the public adhered to the order in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.
In Klang, while non-essential premises were closed, several people were seen hanging out in groups and only dispersed after seeing the presence of police patrolling the area.
Along Lorong Batu Tiga in Klang, a group of three people was seen playing checkers.
One of the trio, an elderly man, said he came all the way from Kapar using the bus to meet his friends here despite knowing about the MCO.
About 100 metres from the group, and behind a shop lot, a group of foreigners were hanging out and quickly walked away as the police approached them.
Restaurants remained open, but police had advised the operators to fold their tables to prevent people from eating in restaurants.
In Kota Damansara, a reflexology centre was open, and a man believed to be a customer walked out as police entered the premises to check.
The operator was heard explaining that she's waiting to pick-up items from a delivery person.
She quickly closed the premise after being advised to do so by the police.
In the same area, two food trucks were ordered to close.
One of the operators thought that it's a different regulation between Kuala Lumpur and Selangor and claimed that he was allowed to run the business as usual.
However, when the police explained that the regulation in regards to the order is the same everywhere, he obeyed the advice to close for the time being.
During the operation briefing this morning, Criminal Investigation Department chief Fadzil Ahmat said based on the operations yesterday, it looked like some people are not concerned about Covid-19.
"We will continue the operation to ensure that society understands and obey the instruction.
"For those who are still stubborn, we will take serious action based on the operations yesterday. It seems that they are not concerned (about being infected)," Fadzil said.
More checks and roadblocks are expected as the police intensify their efforts to educate and advise the public to stay home. - Mkini
