Faizal pledges new Perak exco will be vetted by MACC, police

Malaysiakini

Perak menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who was sworn-in again this evening, has pledged that the new state exco line-up will be a clean one.
He said he will be following the example set by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
"Candidates must be among those who are clean and who have been vetted by agencies such as the MACC and police.
"They must not have problems which can burden or give a negative image to the state government," he told a press conference.
The press conference was live-streamed by Sin Chew Daily.
Azumu was sworn in as the head of a Perikatan Nasional state government following a string of defections over the past two weeks which caused the Pakatan Harapan state government to collapse.
Among those who defected was Tronoh assemblyperson Paul Yong who quit DAP.
Yong, who was a state exco before, is currently on trial for the alleged rape of his former domestic helper.
He had gone on leave as an exco member last August but resumed official duties three months later, saying that his decision was supported by Faizal.
Other assemblypersons who are now backing PN include PKR’s Abdul Yunus Jamahri (Kuala Kurau) and independent Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi (Tualang Sekah), both of whom have joined Bersatu.
DAP's A Sivasubramaniam (Buntong) and Amanah’s Hasnul Zulkarnain Abdul Munaim (Titi Serong) also quit their parties to back the new coalition. - Mkini
