CORONAVIRUS | Kedah police today have knocked on the door of a 30-something man who is believed to have joined the tabligh gathering at Sri Petaling mosque on Feb 28.
Astro Awani reported that a team from the Kota Setar district police headquarters, led by the district police chief Mohd Rozi Jidin, went to the man's house at Jalan Tanjung Bendahara after receiving a tip-off.
It is learned that the man, who stays alone, had returned from Kuala Lumpur on March 1.
He is said to have joined several religious activities at a mosque in Alor Setar.
When asked, the man claimed to have undergone a health screening at a hospital.
However, he failed to show evidence in the form of a letter from the hospital.
The police then escorted him to a hospital to test for Covid-19.
Mohd Rozi said that police are looking for other participants of tabligh gathering living in the district.
Earlier, Senior Minister Ismail Sabri said that the police have identified 4,000 participants of the tabligh gathering who are still at large and failed to show up at any hospital or clinic for the screening.
He had asked them to voluntarily show-up or risk having police knocking on their doors. - Mkini
