MELAKA: The Melaka Health Department has placed a former state exco member under Covid-19 quarantine until March 27.
Kota Laksamana assemblyman Low Chee Leong, from DAP, was ordered to observe self-quarantine at his home in Bertam here under a notice issued by a senior medical officer from the Melaka Hospital Wednesday (March 18).
Low, the former Melaka Health, Anti-Drug and Unity Committee chairman, had voluntarily gone for a check-up after coming into contact with Sarikei MP Wong Ling Biu on Feb 24 in Kuala Lumpur.
Low said he had shook the hand of Wong during the meeting.
"I decided to go for a medical screening at Melaka Hospital after developing a cough on Tuesday (March 17)," he said.
Low added that he would still be carrying out his duties remotely during the quarantine period. - Star
