MAS' 13,000 Employees To Go On No Pay Leave

MAS asks 13,000 employees to take "voluntary" unpaid leave 
Covid-19 takes a heavy toll on airlines' bottom line

or five days no-pay leave per month for at least three months

unpaid leave extended to MAB Kargo, MAB Engineering, Firefly and MASwings

On Monday MAS announced 10% pay cut for senior management 
They will also forgo their allowances

1st quarter 2020 MAS removed 7.1% capacity 
suspended more than 1,600 flights
MAS cut capacity to China by 53% 
to South Korea and Japan by 23%
more flights to be cancelled 

SIA, Cathay, British Airways, Lufthansa, Emirates, Virgin offering unpaid leave

Malindo also ordered staff to take two weeks unpaid leave 
50% salary cut, suspending flights, asking vendors to delay payments

MAS owned by Khazanah Nasional 
airline continues to struggle 
intense competition, weak ringgit, overcapacity
