KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno Youth chief Abdul Aziz Julkarmain (pic) says Parti Warisan Sabah should not be allowed to join Perikatan Nasional, but the party can be "friendly" to the Federal Government under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"If Warisan decides to apply to join Perikatan, leaders of the alliance must reject it.
"This is because Warisan is still a partner of Upko and Pakatan Harapan in the state that supported Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a candidate for prime minister last week," he said.
He said although Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal had not shown any indication they wanted to team up with Perikatan Nasional, such an alliance would not be acceptable.
However, he said Warisan could be "friendly" to the Federal Government as it would benefit the state.
He added that Warisan and its partners should abandon their support for Dr Mahathir at the next Parliament meeting.
Instead, Abdul Aziz said Warisan and its partners should play the "constructive opposition" role at federal level.
Abdul Aziz also believed that the Warisan led state government would collapse in due course. - Star
