PETALING JAYA: Two MCA senators were among the six who were sworn in at the Dewan Negara on Tuesday (March 10).
Two senators from MCA, Datuk Lim Ban Hong, will be appointed as a senator to fill the Deputy International Trade and Industry post, while Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon will be appointed Deputy Education Minister I.
The newly formed Cabinet announced on Monday (March 9) by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will see the inclusion of six senators from various backgrounds.
CIMB chief executive officer Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz will also be appointed senator to helm the Finance Ministry.
Federal Territories Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri will also be made senator to take over as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of religious affairs.
Others include Barisan Nasional executive secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad, who would also be appointed senator before being taking the deputy environment minister post.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, who was the officer to then Youth and Sports Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, will also take his oath as a senator before helming the Deputy Youth and Sports Minister portfolio.
The senators took their oath in front of Dewan Negara president Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran at 10am. - Star
