Stay home with loved ones, Maria Chin tells her Petaling Jaya constituents

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah has urged her constituents to obey the movement control order (MCO) and stay home in the last 10 days till the expected end of the order on March 31.
“I still feel people are still out on the streets. While some wet markets are open, I sincerely hope people will stay put, cook their own meals or order in.
“It is only another 10 more days. For the sake of our loved ones, our neighbours and those out there treating the infected, please stay at home,” Maria (above) said in a series of WhatsApp messages to the media today.
Now is also the right time for people to spend more time with their families and connect online with friends, she said.
“Let us stay positive, stay safe and stay at home,” she said.
She was responding to news that Petaling Jaya and Lembah Pantai have the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country based on the latest data.
This information was shared by the Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on his Facebook this morning.
It showed that the two areas contributed 96 and 90 cases respectively as of noon yesterday.
The total number of positive Covid-19 cases announced by the Health Ministry yesterday was 1,183. The death toll is now at eight.
The new Perikatan Nasional government had announced the MCO effective March 18.
The army is supposed to be deployed starting today to assist the police in monitoring the MCO. - Mkini

  1. Come on Maria you can advise ppl to stay at home but don't ever mention order food coz you all are rich with high salary but did you all MP care about poor ppl, since lockdown theres no job,no financial aid fm government n we can't even withdraw from EPF.What shit is that?If you are in our situation I bet you will say that you want to go out n work n rather die of Corona virus than die of hunger.U think we are alone? We have family to feed too!
