State health director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the 25 tested positive yesterday.
"They were among 78 people who were identified as close contacts from the school," he added.
He said the first case from the school was detected on Jan 19.
"The spike in the number of cases resulted in the school being temporarily closed for eight days beginning Jan 20," he added.
It is learnt that SMK(A) Melor was the second religious school in the district ordered to cease face-face learning following a spike in cases.
Last week, SMK(A) Naim Lilbanat was ordered to close for a week after 73 of its students positive for Covid-19.
On another development, Dr Zaini said a total of 378 students and school staff in the state tested positive for Covid-19 as of yesterday.
"They were among 700 individuals found positive for Covid-19," he said.
He added, there were 25 active clusters under the education category so far.
"The positive patients were sent to a nearby PKRC while the close contacts are told to undergo self-quarantine," he added. - NST
