Author Kee Thuan Chye has been summoned by the police tomorrow over the launch of his book on DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, for alleged breach of standard operating procedures (SOP).
Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng had today sent out a notice to the press about Kee being called in to give his statement at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters tomorrow afternoon.
It was previously reported that the police will investigate claims of SOP violations at the book launch which had been held at the Sogo Convention Hall on Jan 11.
Dang Wangi district police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya had reportedly said the matter will be investigated under Section 21A of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).
The event on Jan 11 had been to launch Lim’s biography, written by Kee, which was titled "Lim Kit Siang: Malaysian First".
Lim, as well as Muda co-founder Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, had been in attendance at the event.
