Marina Mahathir said her father Dr Mahathir Mohamad is now interacting with family members.
Mahathir was on Jan 20 admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for the third time in a month.
There was a flurry of activity at the IJN yesterday including a visit by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The exact circumstances of his latest hospitalisation were unclear but his family yesterday issued a brief statement that the former prime minister was in a stable condition and was responding well to treatment.
They also urged the public to pray for the 96-year-old Langkawi MP.
In an update today, Marina said Mahathir was still undergoing treatment at IJN.
"Our family has interacted with him," she said in a statement.
On behalf of the family, Marina also thanked everyone for organising prayers for Mahathir.
"We hope people will not entertain rumours circulated by unverified sources.
"IJN and Mahathir's family will issue statements from time to time. We once again convey our thanks to everyone," she said.
The Pejuang chairperson – who will turn 97 in July – was admitted to IJN for a full medical check-up and further observation last Dec 16 and spent a week before being discharged on Dec 23.
He was subsequently admitted to IJN for an elective procedure on Jan 7 and was discharged on Jan 13. - Mkini
