The PAS central committee made a unanimous decision to remove Kuala Nerus MP Khairuddin Aman Razali from its ranks.
This was revealed by PAS central committee member and Pendang MP Awang Hashim who said sacking someone from their position is an ordinary affair for any organisation.
He said the PAS central committee will reach a consensus for any matter, and that the decision to sack Khairuddin (above) would not lead to an internal rift among members.
"This (sacking) is an ordinary matter. I was there in the meeting at that time, everyone agreed and will follow (the decision)," said Awang as quoted by Sinar Harian Online today.
On Friday (Jan 14), PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang confirmed Khairuddin's sacking from the party's central leadership, as decided at a meeting chaired by PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan on Wednesday (Jan 12).
The sacking came less than two months after the former plantation industries and commodities minister was appointed as a central committee member.
Khairuddin was appointed to the position after he was defeated in the party polls last November.
Prior to the sacking, Khairuddin was identified as being among a group of PAS leaders opposed to Hadi's strategy of forging stronger ties with Bersatu under the Perikatan Nasional banner, which is causing tension with Umno. - Mkini
